Last updated 2 weeks agoIf the computer we use is shared with others — such as coworkers, brothers, sisters, and so on — we may want to secure our sensitive documents, photo albums, videos, emails, and other data on our computer. Fortunately, there are folder-locking programs available. Vovsoft Hide Files, probably one of the easiest among them, can quickly hide and password-protect any private or sensitive files.

On first launch, the software prompts you to create a master password. If you forget it, a reminder can be sent to the email address linked to your license key. Please note that password recovery is only available for activated copies, an email cannot be sent without a registered license key.

In the main window of the software, you can easily add files or folders using the menu or by dragging and dropping.
Once you have added files or folders, you need to "lock" them using the menu.
A "locked" file or folder is no longer visible, even if you search for its filename.
You can "unlock" these files whenever you need them again. It is important to "unlock" them before reinstalling the Microsoft Windows operating system or formatting any storage device — such as a local hard drive, external drive, SSD, SD/MMC memory card, or USB flash drive — where your files are stored.
