How to Use Spell Checker

🚀 Starting from Text Edit Plus 16, the software integrates directly with your native operating system capabilities. Users now need to use Windows Spelling to add or remove spell checker languages.

To add a new language to Text Edit Plus, simply add it to your Windows operating system. (Windows 8 or later)

1️⃣ Open Windows Settings ⚙️.
2️⃣ Navigate to Time & Language > Language 🌍 (or Language & region in Windows 11).
3️⃣ Click Add a language ➕, select your preferred language 🗣️, and install the basic typing/spelling pack 📦.

✅ Once installed in Windows, Text Edit Plus will automatically recognize and use the new language dictionaries! 🎉

By pressing F7 key, you can go through the unidentified words one by one.

You can also right-click any unidentified word in your text, Text Edit Plus will display the suggested corrections at the top of the popup menu.

Spell Checker can only work when using SynEdit, the default text engine. If you changed the text engine to Classic, you can activate SynEdit again by using the menu Options > Text Engine > SynEdit.

How to Change Spell Checking Language
