Vovsoft IP Scanner is an easy-to-use administration tool built to reveal network devices and ports. Whether you are auditing your local area network (LAN) or scanning external IP ranges across the internet (WAN), it provides fast, accurate, and comprehensive device discovery.

At its core is a high-performance, multi-threaded scanning engine. Instead of processing IP addresses sequentially, the software distributes tasks across multiple concurrent threads, enabling it to ping and probe hundreds of addresses simultaneously. This dramatically reduces scan times, allowing even large subnets to be analyzed in seconds without overloading system resources.

To maximize detection accuracy under different network conditions, the scanner combines three complementary discovery methods:

• Internet Control Message Protocol (ICMP): Quickly checks whether a device is reachable by sending echo requests (ping) and measuring response time.
• Address Resolution Protocol (ARP): Reliably identifies devices on the local network by resolving IP addresses to MAC addresses, even if firewalls block other methods.
• Transmission Control Protocol (TCP): Verifies host availability by attempting connection handshakes, useful when ICMP is restricted.

Port Scanner

Vovsoft IP Scanner also includes an advanced port scanner module built around Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) for precise service detection. The program allows you to define custom TCP port ranges, giving you full control over which ports are scanned—whether you want a quick check of common services or a full-range audit. By performing TCP handshake attempts, it accurately determines whether ports are open or closed. When a connection is accepted—such as on ports like 80 (HTTP) or 443 (HTTPS)—the software confirms that a service is actively running on the target system. Leveraging its multi-threaded architecture, this port scanner analyzes hundreds of ports in parallel, delivering fast and reliable insights for security audits, troubleshooting, and network mapping.
