Search Text In Files Giveaway
Vovsoft Search Text In Files is an easy-to-use file search application for your desktop or laptop computer. Search through plain-text files and PDF files using simple queries and this tool will quickly list the requested files.
This program is a simple text search software that allows you to seek fast through your files. Select directory, enter "Filename Filter" and "Find Text", then click the "Start" button. Everything that meets the specified criteria will be listed. You can open, rename, copy or delete the resulting files by right-clicking. You can export the results into TXT or CSV file. You can also display file size, and file icons using the settings. If you want to disregard files that contain a specified text, you can do this by utilizing the "Ignore Text" option.
It should also be noted that unlike similar programs, this software supports very long path and file names (longer than 260 characters).
You can save the current state of application as operation file and use it later. All you have to do is open an existing operation file, this program will recognize the search criteria and start searching again.
The application supports filename wildcards; asterisks (*) and question marks (?). An asterisk matches any number of characters, a question mark matches a single arbitrary character.
This program has the capability to read from a wide variety of file formats.
- Plain-text Files: The program can read and process plain-text files. The most popular plain text file extension is TXT. However many extensions are actually plain text files such as CSV, JSON, LOG, HTML, XML.
- PDF Files: The program has the ability to handle PDF (Portable Document Format) files.
- DOC and DOCX Files: The program can read DOC (Microsoft Word Document) and DOCX (Microsoft Word Open XML Document) files.
- XLS and XLSX Files: The program can read XLS (Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet) and XLSX (Microsoft Excel Open XML Spreadsheet) files. These formats are used for storing spreadsheet data.
- PPT, PPTX, PPS, PPSX Files: The program can read PowerPoint files, presentations and slide shows.
- MSG Files: The program can read Outlook message item files.
- EML Files: The program has the capability to read EML (Internet Message Format) email files.

Reply Why did you choose to build the SOS build and installer to require NT6.0 to be executed while the SAME version of code base on your site only requires NT5.1 and runs quite happily under XP? Ever considered a shell extension for the program so one could right click on a file or folder and select Search in text and have it launch the program pre-loaded with the selected path or file? Like Agent Ransack does.

Thank you for your feedback. Yes, we updated the compiler we use this month and are now working with a more modern development environment. Unfortunately, maintaining Windows XP compatibility required additional effort, and we have decided to drop official support for Windows XP.
We will consider your shell extension suggestion for future versions.
